these flies must have been around the block...they seem to keep to the edge of the open bowl. Only one took the plunge. I'll try the plastic wrap method. Thanks!

Thanks!! Last year we had tons of fruit flies and it drove us all nuts! We have had a few fruit flies without any food out at all. I'm going to try this today for sure!

I will save this tip. I don't have many episodes of fruit flies moving in, but the two or so times they tried to take over my house was awful!!
